Eng. José Luis Antúnez

Electromechanical Engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with more than 50 years of experience in the professional management of companies and projects in Argentina and abroad.

He has actively participated since the beginning of his career in numerous infrastructure projects, with particular emphasis on the energy sectors, where he has executed projects for thermal, hydraulic and nuclear power generation plants; electrical transformation and distribution projects, steam power plants, refineries, and gas and oil treatment, compression and pumping facilities.

He was president of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina and director of the completion of Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant project, until its commissioning in 2015.

He served as General Manager of Transener and managed large engineering projects such as the completion of the Yacylec energy carrier, Edesur and Transener.

He was director of the nuclear engineering and construction company NUCLAR S.A, which developed the assembly and start-up of Embalse Nuclear Power Plant; the expansion of the fuel pools of Atucha I Nuclear Power Plant, and the engineering and beginning of the assembly of Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant. 


Lic. Jorge Sidelnik

Graduated in Physical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and a master's degree in Energy Economics and the Environment from the Bariloche Foundation.

He joined the National Atomic Energy Commission in the physics group for the commissioning of Embalse Nuclear Power Plant and participated in the critical commissioning of that plant.

He worked in the physics group of Atucha I Nuclear Power Plant where the main activities were the participation in the repair of the Plant in 1990, the change of fuel in the Power Plant by Slightly Enriched Uranium and the increase of mass in the reactor core, which was achieved after the year 2000.

He was Project Manager of SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) and SGI (Interactive Graphic Simulator) together with the Spanish firm TECNATOM. He also participated in the feasibility study for the completion of Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant.

He served as Project Manager for that study, and also for the Life Extension Project of Embalse.

He was General Manager of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina and governor of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) on behalf of the company. He was also responsible for the provision of fuel elements for the first core of the Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant and its heavy water supply.

He is the author of a book on the repairing of Atucha I together with Engineer J.C. Almagro and Dr. Roberto Perazzo.

He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering in the energy branch.


Eng. Alejandro Estevez

Engineer specialized in nuclear reactors from the Dan Beninson Institute - UNSAM and a master's degree in operation of nuclear facilities from the Ecole Centrale Paris. He was responsible for the Corporate Independent Supervision of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina, a sector that promotes excellence in the operation of nuclear power plants.

He worked for two years at the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) at its headquarters in Paris, in the peer review program, where he has evaluated the performance of more than 20 nuclear power plants in America, Europe and Asia.

He was the first president of the young nuclear members of WANO Paris centre in 2015. He has experience in the managerial field and in the technical field such as design changes, engineering tasks and the coordination of the initial activities of the life extension project of Atucha I Nuclear Power Plant.


Lic. Isidro Baschar

Graduated in International Relations - Honour Mention - from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universidad del Salvador (USAL), Master in Energy Management (UNLa / CNEA) and Fellow of the World Nuclear University (WNU).

He was an advisor of the Institutional Affairs Management of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA). He worked as a Researcher at the Institute for Research in Social Sciences (IDICSO) of USAL and is a teacher at that University.

As an advisor of CNEA, he participated as an Argentinian delegate in multiple bilateral and multilateral meetings related to the development of the peaceful uses of nuclear technology, including the Board of Governors and the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); Plenary Meetings and Meetings of the Advisory Council of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and the 2015 Conference of the Parties in charge of the examination of the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), among others.

He is a founding member and member of the Board of Directors of the Asociación Jóvenes Nucleares Argentina (Association of Young Nuclear Members of Argentina- [AJNA]). 


Dr. Gabriel Barceló

Mechanical Engineer graduated from the University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco and PhD in Physics graduated from the Balseiro Institute. He was manager of Institutional Affairs in charge of international relations and manager of Cooperation and Technology Transfer of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA).

In addition, he was Deputy Director of Nuclear Engineering at the Balseiro Institute and Head of Extraction of the Río Grande Field, Tierra del Fuego, at YPF.

He served as a member for CNEA of the board of directors of FAE SA (Fábrica de Aleaciones Especiales SA [Special Alloys Manufacturing]) and of the board of directors of the telecommunications and systems company ALTEC SE. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Atomic Energy Commission.
